two peas in a pod

So Dan and I love to snow ski.
We also love to scuba dive and skydive and some other crazy stuff. But we absolutely adore the mountains and skiing down those gorgeous, snowy, sometimes icy mountains as fast as we possibly can. And we're lucky enough to get to go skiing again this month. So in honor of our upcoming ski trip, I decided to take a little walk down memory lane. Emphasis on little. My walk consists of two pictures.
This picture came from my 2005 stash. We had been dating for less than a year. So sweet. But that's not the point of my story. My point is ... we have the exact same coat on. Probably the same size and everything because I love my coats big. Don't give me any of that cute, fitted nonsense. I want as much padding as possible for when I tumble down that hill.
And here we have a ski trip from 2010.
I promise you ... we do not plan these things.
I'm not exactly sure what we were thinking. 

I call dibs on a black coat this year. 
Do not copy me Dan.

  1. hahaha. Loving the look-a-likes! You guys are adorable. I hope you both wear black this year. Will make for good pictures! Oh and we also love snow skiing (and drinking Tecate). :) I usually go for a bloody though. Ugh. Now I'm jealous!! Can't wait to see pictures!

  4. I want to go skydiving so bad! Me and skiing though? We don't get along. Too many things to coordinate all at the same time.

    However, despite that, I am jealous you'll be with snow. Haven't seen a flake in 2 years! What is up with that?

  11. LOL, that is too funny! I'm thinking to myself...wow two winter coats in 5 years...but then again I don't come from somewhere where it's cold and warrents more then 1 winter coat. I love the snow and going down the mountain! So sad we can't go this year! Hopefully next year!

  15. So, a couple of your pictures are from the resort I used to teach at, and that my mom still teaches at. And yes, it creeps me out that I know that from overcast pictures. And yes, I get free lift tickets. And yes, I'm now trying to bribe you to spend some time with me. Is it working?

  17. SO cute!! I started skiing about four years ago, and I absolutely love it! If you're ever looking for a place to hit the slopes, there's NO shortage of snow here in the Northeast. :)

  20. You're too cute! I'd never skied before we lived in Idaho, but Paul grew up skiing, so I went with him. I discovered I am not meant to glide down mountains effortlessly, but instead either tumble quickly or 'pizza' v-e-r-y slowly. So after two skiing tries (including a private lesson; I did give it a shot!) and a snowboarding lesson that resulted in a broken tailbone for me, I happily explored the town while Paul skied when we went to Bulgaria.
    But I have to say, smart move on the brightly colored coats- I bought a white one, thinking "SNOW!" and then realized that, should I get stuck in an avalanche (I'm a walking worst-case-scenario) no one would be able to find me.

  21. You guys like diving too eh? Are you both certified? Advanced? Specialty diving certs? We're thinking of going to Roatan this year. WOOOO!
    Any cool spots you been to? My dream is to swim with whale sharks.. They're HUGE, beautiful and interactive. :)

  23. Oh my goodness, that's too funny! And I'm impressed with your skiing skills (assuming you actually skiied down the black diamond run you're standing in front of haha). We went for the first time last weekend, and I'm still in so much pain! I wouldn't even try diving or skydiving. Good for you, girl!

  26. We spent this past weekend in Snowshoe, WV skiing! I hadn't been in 10 years, so I was a little weary, but by the end of the trip, we were trying to figure out when we could go again! So. Much. Fun.

    Next time I'll be sure me & the bf match. That seems like WAY more fun. I'm sure he'll think so too.
